At KidsRights, we handle your personal data with the utmost care. When you share data with us, we process it in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What data do we process?
When you make a donation, contact us, or use our services, we may process the following information, among other things:
- First and last name
- Gender
- Date and place of birth
- Address details
- Phone number
- Email address
- Bank account number
- Information you provide to us via contact forms, email, or phone
For recurring donations, we also process your Social Security Number (BSN), as required by the Internal Revenue Service.
Under 16?
Our website does not intend to collect data from visitors under the age of 16 without the consent of their parents or guardians. If you believe this has happened, please contact us at info@kidsrights.org. We will delete this data as soon as possible.
Why do we process your data?
We use personal data to:
- Process donations and payments
- Send newsletters and updates
- to contact you when necessary
- Enable accounts or personal environments
- To comply with legal obligations, such as tax regulations
How long do we retain your data?
We never retain personal data for longer than necessary.
- We retain financial data for 7 years due to legal requirements.
- We also retain BSN data for recurring donations for 7 years.
- We retain other personal data for up to 3 years to ensure we can perform our work effectively.
Automated decision-making
KidsRights does not make decisions based on fully automated processes that have significant consequences for individuals. There is always human oversight.
Do we share data with third parties?
No. KidsRights never sells your personal information to third parties.
Sometimes we work with partners or suppliers who process data on our behalf. We enter into clear agreements with these parties to ensure that your data remains secure and confidential.
Cookies and Statistics
Our website uses technical, functional, and analytical cookies that do not infringe on your privacy. This allows us to ensure that the website works properly and to continue improving areas where we can do better.

To protect your privacy, we may ask you to provide a copy of your ID. Please make sure to black out your photo, MRZ, passport number, and Social Security number.
We will respond within four weeks at the latest.
