State of Youth 2025 Highlights

State of Youth 1 January 2026

In 2025, the State of Youth community turned ideas into action. Chapter Leaders launched projects, challenged inequality, connected communities and created opportunities for children around the world. Every campaign, conversation and collaboration proved the same thing: young people are already shaping the world today.

"I recently joined State of Youth and became deeply passionate about our work. Since joining, I have led several online initiatives focused on tackling discrimination in education and promoting equal access to opportunities."

Abdul, State of Youth @ Ministry of Literary Affairs, Pakistan

2025 in Action

Together, our global network reached new milestones:

  • Launched the International Children’s Peace Prize Project Fund for State of Youth Chapters.
  • Awarded funding to 13 outstanding Chapter projects focused on Gender Equality (SDG 5), creating impact for thousands of children worldwide.
  • Introduced the State of Youth Movement Platform, a youth-led space where Chapters connect, collaborate and drive collective action across borders.
  • Launched our new website, featuring a fresh look, a better user experience, a news section, spotlight stories and more.
  • Piloted our Country Representatives programme in 5 countries, helping bring our growing community even closer together.
  • Partnered with Charter for Compassion to host the Global Youth Conference, bringing young leaders together online to share ideas, co-create solutions and strengthen youth-led action worldwide.
  • Published our 2025 Impact Report, showcasing the power of young people creating change.
  • Released new youth-driven communication materials and toolkits designed to amplify young voices and support action.
  • Welcomed our 2025-2026 Youth Board, made up of 7 inspiring Chapter Leaders from around the world.
  • Onboarded more than 250 Chapters across 41 countries.
  • Reached 1.6 million people organically through Instagram and Facebook.

At the end of the year, Chapter Leaders, Youth Board members and Country Representatives  came together to reflect on what they achieved and what comes next.

The stories shared during our global end-of-year meeting reminded us why this movement matters. Across continents, young people spoke about the friendships they built, the communities they strengthened and the impact they created.

“My highlight was hearing about all the amazing things Chapters are doing during the Global Youth Conference.” – Mujtaba, State of Youth @ Rasa Foundation, Afghanistan

“Getting overwhelmingly excellent experiences. Forever grateful to this family!” – Zohana, State of Youth @ DU, Bangladesh

Proud Moments That Created Change

We also asked Chapter Leaders what achievement made them most proud in 2025.

“Organizing monthly digital meet-ups called Thought Spheres to build a network of local changemakers.”- Tarun, State of Youth @ Indians for India, India

2025 showed what is possible when young people lead.

Now we look ahead.

Here’s to an even bigger 2026. More action. More connections. More young changemakers creating the future they want to see.

"My Chapter received funding through the International Children's Peace Prize Project Fund for our Girl Child School Enrolment and Sustainability Project. We are supporting 33 girls to access education by providing school materials, uniforms and support for school fees and exams."

Sa'id, State of Youth @ Gombe, Nigeria
